WABE 2025 Dual Language Winter Institute

Effective classroom-based formative assessment practices support dual language educators in tracking student growth toward bilingual mastery of both content and language. This session provides practical tools and strategies to develop formative assessments that respect and leverage students' linguistic assets in both languages of instruction, using learning goals and success criteria aligned with WIDA Key Language Uses. These self assessments empower students to monitor their bilingual progression and self-assess in ways that recognize their diverse educational backgrounds and language proficiency levels.
